What is OC Spray?
OC spray, often referred to as pepper spray or mace spray, is a non-lethal personal defense weapon that uses the active ingredient Oleoresin Capsicum. This chemical compound is derived from hot peppers and is known for its intense burning sensation when it comes in contact with skin and mucous membranes. OC spray is designed to incapacitate an attacker by causing temporary pain, inflammation, and disorientation. It comes in various forms such as keychain sprays, jogger sprays, and larger canisters for home or car defense.
How does OC Spray work?
When sprayed into the eyes and face of an attacker, OC spray causes the blood vessels and mucous membranes to swell, making it difficult for them to see and breathe. This intense discomfort can last up to an hour, giving the victim enough time to escape or seek help. OC spray also causes temporary blindness, which can disorientate the attacker and give the victim a chance to flee.
OC Spray On-the-Go:
A spray keychain or jogger OC spray are small, handheld options great for use while you’re away from home. They can be handled by anyone, no expertise required. A personal security protection system that includes OC Spray will give you an advantage.
What is Mace Spray?
Mace spray is a type of OC spray that uses a different active ingredient, called phenacyl chloride. Similar to OC spray, it causes intense burning and irritation when sprayed onto the eyes and face of an attacker. Mace spray was first developed as a defense weapon in the 1960s and is still used today for personal protection. It comes in different forms including keychain sprays and larger canisters for home or car defense.
