About Bear Pepper Spray

Don’t let yourself become the victim of a bear attack! Bears kill an average of 3 people in each year in North America alone, and many outdoorsmen and women never even realize how often they come close to an unwanted encounter. The solution is simple: bear spray. The Home Security Superstore offers a variety of options for non-lethal bear spray, from belt-holstered canisters to small, pack-ready keychains. Why get caught off guard in the woods where you’re most defenseless?

Do you love the outdoors? If you’re an avid hiker, camper, or explorer you should know that dozens of people are attacked or threatened by bears each year, many unprovoked. Black bears and grizzly bears are some of the most dangerous species for humans. Bear pepper spray is an excellent way to protect yourself in the woods that won’t permanently hurt the wildlife or weigh down your pack.

Bear spray works by causing the animal temporary pain and blindness, buying you valuable time to make your way to safety. Most brands work from 20-25 feet away so you don’t have to come into close contact with the bear to use it. Some bear pepper spray has been approved by the EPA for use on wildlife and most canisters weigh less than 1 lb. They can be carried in a pocket, a pack, or on a belt holster.

Planning on hiking the Appalachian Trail? Going camping for the weekend with your family? Bears are found in over half the states in the U.S., particularly the West and Southeast, so it’s always smart to be protected. One canister of bear pepper spray can put your mind at ease and may even help save your life! What do you have to lose?
