All self-defense products such as pepper sprays and stun devices (including tasers) are meant to give you time to escape from an assailant. They disable an assailant up to 45 minutes and cause no long-lasting harm. Pepper sprays are by far the most widely used of all self-defense items, but stun guns are a close second for personal self-defense. They have become enormously popular in the last decade partially because of word of mouth advertising from happy customers.
Stun devices use their electrical charge to cause the assailant’s body to overwork rapidly so he has no energy left. Pepper sprays use the resin of a powerful pepper to cause extreme pain, excessive tearing of the eyes, coughing, choking and shortness of breath. A stun device can disable an assailant for 5 to 10 minutes while a defensive spray can put someone out of action for as much as 45 minutes.
A disguised self-defense item can give you an advantage in a threatening situation by giving you the element of surprise. Here are some great examples.
Pepper Sprays. The most famous disguised spray is probably the lipstick pepper spray. It looks just like a lipstick dispenser but inside is a full strength 10% solution of OC Spray. Because it is so small it has a limited range of 6 to 8 feet. In an assault situation that can be plenty. Other good examples are a perfume dispenser and a ball point pen. Mace makes a product that is a kubaton but inside is a defensive spray. The Streetwise Pepper Spray Baton is reinforced steel and has 12 half second bursts of spray inside.
Stun Devices. The most famous of disguised stun device is the cell phone stun gun. There are several versions of that on the market today which further attests to its popularity. Other disguised stun devices look like a lipstick dispenser, perfume spray bottle, flashlight and electric shaver.
These are some of the more popular disguised products for personal defense and personal security. They will give you an advantage for woman’s self-defense.
If you have ever felt threatened in an assault situation and you have a stun gun, I have always recommended that you hold up a charging stun gun for the assailant to see and hear. Sometimes the intimidating sights and sounds of a charging stun gun are enough to scare an assailant away.
Both pepper sprays and stun devices are illegal or have some restrictions in some states. Check the internet to be sure they are legal in your area.
